Tonight I was going through the junk mail box in my work email account and came across and email from some yahoo email address that I thought was just a little bit too weird and not spam as it was a little bit direct to me, not selling anything and from a .com.au address. Heres what it said…
Dear PX WEB Design,
As a web designer my self I was looking around your portfolio and noticed that you are a lying dirty cheat, who uses templates I all his websites. Grow a f-cking brain mate honestly.
I haven’t bothered replying but I feel that the same guy called me just before sending this email as a I had a weird enquiry just before receiving the email.
Well first of all I don’t use templates for any of my designs, all of them are custom built by myself and I doubt many ‘templates’ out there actually use proper XHTML/CSS like all of the sites we design. I find an email like this really annoying as its purposely degrading the designs I do which I take very personally.
All that aside, James (correct!) just recently posted up some questions for readers of his blog so I thought I’d do the right thing and answer them on here:
- What do you do (for work)?
I’m a front end designer for websites, developing/designing what the user of the website sees. I also look after all of the client liaison in the business. - Who do you work for?
I’m the part owner of website development business based in Toowoomba, PX Webdesign. - What are your “Tools of the trade”?
Notepad++, SmartFTP, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Firefox (+Web Developer Plugin) and of course my Dual 19″ Screen setup at the office and notebook at home. - On a scale of 1 - 10, how satistfied with your job are you?

Wow, dude those are some seriously harsh words! What kind of freak sends that crap anyway???
I didn’t think to mention Firefox plugins in the answers to my own questions. I have quite a few, so perhaps it’s best I left them out…
