Road Trip 07 - Day Fourteen

Well we are about to leave Sydney after having a great time there but was defiantly a little bit too short. We arrived on mid Friday afternoon after which I went out to dinner with two of our clients from Sydney who actually didn’t live all that far away from where we were staying so had dinner at a restaurant on the Corso in Manly.
The next day me and Gem got up a bit late and took the Ferry from Manly to the Sydney CBD. Was a great trip passing through the harbour and then stopping at Circular Quay. From there we set off into the CBD to the NSW Art Gallery as I had seen in the paper before we left that they had a display of original work by Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy.
It was amazing to see some of the original work, its astonishing what he could achieve freehand and it was cool to see even whiteout and paste-overs in some of the works! It was also interesting to see all of his other cartoons which had a huge range including quite a few bizarre adult style cartoons like Black Jack and some weird trans-gender postwar influenced cartoons.
That night we went to meetup with the AU Starlet Club members from NSW at a nice bistro in Northern Sydney. It was a pretty small turnout but we got to see the usuals, so that was good to catchup with them, hopefully for a bit longer next time though!
The next day (Sunday) we went to Taronga Zoo which was a well worth visit. They had some great displays and its great to see Zoos like Taronga Zoo that have realistic looking displays instead of the old animal in a cage type setup. It did rain a bit here and there but otherwise was a great day and a diverse range of animals to look at!
Well thats most of the trip over now. Tommorrow we head off back to home via Gem’s sister place at the Gold Coast and we’re hoping to buy some Krispy Kreme doughnuts in Sydney before heading off tommorrow morning.
