Road Trip 07 - Day Five

We have now left the lovely city of Adelaide after having a great time in there with relatives and friends of ours. The city has a lot of similarities to Toowoomba which a few of the people we know that were from Toowoomba originally commented on as well. They have problems with not many places being open on Sunday’s and just the general layout and traffic is very similar to Toowoomba.
The first day we got down early from our stay in the Barossa Valley and Gem’s brother Tom took us out for dinner at the local Hotel that night which put on a great seafood platter!
The next day a friend of mine whom I have never met from the AU Starlet Club, Brad, took us around the city to the ‘better’ locations including Mount Lofty which gave some great views of the city and then through some of the rich suburbs and over to the great beachside suburb Glenelg.
On the last day we went into the city to do some shopping and meet up with Gem’s friend Catherine and also went to see Tom’s piercing shop in one of the southern suburbs as well. We then had dinner that night at Charlie’s Restaurant with Gem, me, Tom, Jess (Tom’s Fiance), Elita (Tom’s Daughter), Catherine and David (Catherine’s partner). The restaurant was great as it was a buffet but had a wide selection of different foods including Pizzas, Roasts, Chinese, Salads and even deserts, a big recommendation for that joint. One thing I didn’t know until we got there was that it was called Charlie’s because it was themed as Charlie Chaplin!
But the stay in Adelaide has been great and well worth it and we will visit again but just fly down as we’ve done the drive down to there now already.
